PP14 América Latina: Del Crecimiento liderado por Exportaciones al Desarrollo Productivo (2007). Presented to the Seminar on National Development Strategies organized by FLACO, Ecuador. The paper provides an analysis of the current export-led growth model (based on commodities and natural resources) that exhibit the Latin American region. We argue that Latin American countries need to consolidate more output and employments gains from this pattern of international insertion. The paper suggests the need to develop national strategies that can generate improvements in labor productivity, better productive networks, and inclusive growth. Alternative development policies are explored
